Malaysian actress Ida Nerina."KUALA LUMPUR: The local entertainment scene was in shock Monday morning after Malay-language media reported that popular actress Ida Nerina had fractured her spine in a fall.
She fell at a condominium in Persiaran Syed Putra here on Sunday and her legs may be paralysed, the reports said.
She is in stable condition and is resting after spinal cord surgery conducted at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, where the Akademi Fantasia Season Seven (AF7) instructor was referred after first being brought to Pantai Medical Centre for emergency treatment.
The press has not been able to confirm the news with her family.
However her friend Fatimah Abu Bakar, also an AF7 instructor, said the actress’ husband Shahrin Razali -- drummer for rock group Blackrose -- had confirmed the news, according to Malay media reports.
She refused to comment further on what had caused the fall.
